What cookies are

A cookie is a small file made up of letters and numbers that is stored on your device (computer, mobile phone, tablet) when you visit a website. The cookie allows the website to remember certain information about your visit, such as the language you selected or the pages you viewed.

In this policy, “cookie” also covers similar technologies that work on the same principle and are treated the same way in law: local storage, session storage, tracking pixels, tags and embedded SDKs.

Cookies can be classified as follows:

• By duration: session cookies, which are deleted automatically when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a set period.

Why we use cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

Placed by vlaikon.ro. They include the server session cookie (PHPSESSID), the browser check cookie (wordpress_test_cookie), authentication and interface preference cookies for administrator users (wordpress_logged_in_, wp-settings-), the Elementor plugin cookie and the cookie that stores your choice from the consent banner. Duration: from session length up to a maximum of 12 months.

Functional cookies
Placed by vlaikon.ro through the WPML plugin. They remember the display language you selected, Romanian or English. Duration: session or 24 hours.

Analytics cookies
Placed by Google through Google Analytics 4 (ga, _ga*, _gid, _gat). They collect aggregated data on the number of visitors, traffic sources and on site behaviour, for the purpose of improving the website. Duration: between 1 minute and 24 months.

Marketing cookies
Placed by Google Ads (_gcl_au), Google/DoubleClick (IDE, test_cookie), Meta Platforms (_fbp, _fbc), TikTok (_ttp, _tt_enable_cookie) and YouTube (VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, YSC). Used to measure conversions from our advertising campaigns and to display relevant ads. They may build an interest profile associated with your device. Duration: between session length and 13 months.

Third party cookies and transfers outside the European Union

These providers are mainly Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, Meta Platforms Ireland Limited and Meta Platforms Inc., and TikTok Technology Limited.

Such transfers rely on the safeguards provided by the GDPR, namely the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and, where applicable, the adequacy decision on the EU – US Data Privacy Framework.
